In 1970, Dale Clarkson purchased the 8,000 acre Findlay Ranch. It would become Deer Springs Ranch as it developed into 6,000 acres of private properties and 2,000 acres of shared common areas. Dale and his wife, Patsy, had 11 children and a vision of a place where families could come enjoy the beauties and wonders of Southern Utah from their own private property. It was the hope that families would also enjoy things such as fish ponds, park settings, pavilions, shared cabins, water rights, a working ranch with pet animals, a community store, and the abundant wildlife and spectacular scenery.
Over the last 50 years, the Clarkson family has been involved with Deer Springs Ranch through its purchase, development, and lot sales. Dale and Patsy, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, continue to be engaged in activities at the ranch and sharing this special place with other families through their company, Deer Springs Ranch LLC.
